The standard of risotto is redefined with this exclusive line of hand-selected Italian rice grown at the Principato di Lucedio estate. Harvested, sorted, and dried with care, this rice is shipped fresh in cloth bags to maintain its high quality and flavor.
From Lucedio's centuries-old tradition comes the best available superfino rice for traditional, creamy Italian risotto. Located near Torino in the Piemonte region of northern Italy, Lucedio was built in 1184 by Cisterian monks, and is now considered one of Italy's finest rice-growing estates. Its owner, the Contessa Rosetta Clara Cavalli d'Olivola, has reopened her traditional "fattoria" for the cultivation of Italy's best rice.
Harvested in October and shipped fresh, Principato di Lucedio's rice have no equals. Often referred to as the "caviar" of rice, Carnaroli is the highest quality superfino variety and has the lowest yield per plant.
Carnaroli creates the creamiest risotto due to its high starch content. Try it in recipes where rice is the star, such as Risotto with Champagne or Barolo, and be sure to use your best stock.
